Having been deprived of a ride over the last few days took the opportunity to ride the pants off it in a whizz through the Cotswolds. I do like this bike (V100S)! It is so sure footed through bends even at “ahem” speeds.
Doh, I’ve accidentally deleted my last post
I’ll have to repost with more gratuitous pics of my Griso
Good job - they look great!
Third ride on the new Mandello this afternoon around Sussex in the sunshine, after fitting the first arrivals of a selection of accessories. Pyramid long fender extender and Powerbronze radiator guard. Handguards, engine bars, centre stand and luggage to go once it arrives.
Good number of Guzzis and Guzzisti at today’s Staffies Meet Without Purpose.
Sunny and warm for the most part and excellent company throughout.
Thanks to those who turned out
Installed an official parking zone for the Guzzi (birthday present from my lovely wifey).
I’m sure this counts as a Guzzi done thing.
Excellent day at Clifford Arms Classic Car and Bike Show.
Moto Guzzi were the most prominent brand with bikes from an early single to the latest models. 30+ Guzzis and 40+ Guzzisti enjoying the sunshine and creating a very relaxed atmosphere.
Lots of enquiries about and interest in Moto Guzzis from non owners.
Happy days.
First ‘proper’ ride today after the V100’s first service. It was nice to open her up on some good roads. I rode from York to Thirsk to Helmsley to Stokesley (via the B1257 - alias the “Stokesley TT”), to Kildale and Westerdale, up onto the much under-rated Blakey Ridge road to Hutton Le Hole (lunching at the Lion Inn near the summit at 1,325’) great views from this road looking down into Rosedale and Farndale in the decent weather today. Back to York via Malton and Castle Howard.
I didn’t enjoy the stretch between Kildale and Westerdale - it’s better suited to adventure bikes than sports tourers, so whilst the V100 could cope with the fords and poor road surface in some fairly steep places, it definitely wasn’t it’s natural territory.
Feedback from last weekend’s show where MGCGB put in an impressive display of Guzzis.
“ Rob and Judy and the Clifford Arms staff, Barry and the Clifford Arms Classic Bike and Car Club,
would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the Staffies and the Moto Guzzi Club GB for once again supporting the Clifford Arms Show, making it such a fantastic success again this year.
With so many Guzzis, some very old, some very new, it was a great display of the marque, and a great social occasion.
The trophy for best bike in show went to a delightful little M.V.Agusta single owned by a local resident, and the trophy for the best classic car also went to a local resident for his lovely white
Triumph Stag.
The three charities, Air Ambulance,Bloodbikes, and Crones charity, gratefully received over £1100 in donations.
We hope to see you all again next year,…Rod Derry,Clifford Arms Gang “
Took a run out to Powis Arms in Shropshire to finalise details of the MGCGB Summercamp (July 12th to 14th)
These’re and facilities are looking great, the approach roads as good as ever and the plan for catering is ideal.
Best get your tickets booked before they sell out.
Took the Stornello Scrambler up to The VMCC Taverners section BBQ trial for a little play off the road.
.
I’ve seen a few photos of that bike, it is very neat.
Here’s a bit more about it.

Completed the major seal and bearing change on my 2007 Nevada. Re-fitted front caliper after winter lay up. Now ready mot on Friday.
Fired up V11 ready for tomorrow Pennine Breakfast meet. Also changed the Beeline Moto mount for the Moto II.
Spent the early 70’s trials riding, when all the best bikes came from Spain and all the best riders came from Yorkshire. Brought a new Ossa 250 taxed and road legal from Renee Bennets for £600 in 1976. Great times.
Look up Renne Bennet , she was special.
