My playground
Hope you enjoyed it
Gave the V7 a wash prior to tomorrow’s Advanced Motorcyclists get together for Associate members.
Riding through glorious countryside around the Slovenia / Croatia border area.,
Hit the 5000 mile mark. Running sweet as a nut too.
yesterday went on a 340 mile trip including 80 or 90 miles of motorway, almost made it on one tank but not quite
might have got there but at 65mpg with a 5 gallon tank I thought 318.4 miles was pushing my luck so stopped for more fuel.
put 4.6 litres in then another 15 litres at destination and it was full to the top, so i think i would have made it but it was a bit nerve wracking doing the last 30 miles with 0 fuel on the dash.
Enjoyed a great weekend with my son at the ABR Festval at Ragley Hall.
It was a great weekend with like minded people. The mantra often quoted is think Glastonbury, with motorcycles and posh toilets.
I have just seen pictures of the state of the Glastonbury site and I hope that Ragley Hall was not as bad. Not my thing.
Not on my Guzzi, but had a great morning yesterday test riding a couple of new ones courtesy of Teasdales Motorcycles. Thanks Guys
Nothing like Glastonbury in that respect. Our camping field was clear of rubus. It was put in the bins by responsible people. As far as I could see, the whole site was in a similar condition. During the weekend, many festival goers were test riding motorcycles provided by all the major manufacturers, including Motoguzzi, who attended. There were also many motorcycle accessory manufacturers and suppliers in attendance. Combined with presentations by Dakar Rally competitors, Round the World travellers, and tyre & motorcycle design and production advisors. Plus music…What’s not to like???
My route to Teasdale took me close to Byland Abbey today as well! What did you think of the test rides Chris?
Hi folks,
I’ve been skulking in the wings since I bought my 1200 Sport just over a month ago in preparation for a tour of Mandello/Lake Como. I started from my home-base on the Isle of Man last Wednesday evening and arrived here on Sunday evening. A long story but Covid reduced the number of hours per day I could do in the saddle!
One for another section but I had my first bout of hot-start/not-start several times on the way down which the guys at Agostini’s in Mandello fixed for me with zero notice yesterday. Luckily I had read about this problem previously on this forum so knew not to panic and just let her cool down for half an hour
The first pic shows the sorry state the bike was in when we arrived, we went through a brief shower of sandy rain just before we hit the Alps on Saturday!
The second one was taken today on the ferry from Varenna over to Mennagio, from where we worked our way clockwise round the lake back to Mandello.
Cheers,
Merv
I’ve been to ABR twice. First year was good, but second year (2022) they over-sold tickets but kept same number of concessions so you were queuing for 2 hours to get breakfasts and as for getting a drink…forget it. Hope it was better this time.
OTOH, Ragley Hall is in a very nice position with some great biking roads in the area - accessible, too
The V85 was great apart from the hard suspension. Its fairly basic on the Strada. The Stelvio felt a bit unwieldy after riding the smaller bike. I only got a short ride on it though. I reckon it would be a great long distance machine
There was a whole food & drink area. Yes, there were a few queues at the most popular concessions on Saturday, but Thursday, Friday & Sunday we’re fine. Even Saturday evening was not too bad. The only problem was with some of the campsite field showers, they were somewhat unreliable…
Welcome to Scotland! Hope the weather is kind to you……
Three weeks touring Wales and Ireland. The old Grey Goose didn’t miss a beat. Though the chrome didn’t fare quite so well.
I always wanted a Cali from when I first saw one close up in 1990, beautiful bikes! I’ve had great success with Belgom chrome polish it may work for you.
