Hello All. Relatively recent Guzzi owner/rider here. 2 V85’s in my history since 2019. Been riding since 1978. Took the plunge today and put a deposit on a 2015 Norge GT 8V. Would appreciate any advice on things to look out for. I think the elephant in the room is the flat tappet issue but as far as I can tell from more internet research all 8V models produced from 2012 onwards should be OK. Happy to be disabused of this comfortable notion. And any others I may be harbouring.
Sadly do not assume.
OK. Thanks for taking the Time to reply. The brevity and implied cynicism (note I said “implied”) suggest you have baby tales to tell? Please share…

Hi Scruffy, I assume you are buying from a dealer. If so, get them to check with Piaggio. I’m not at home at the moment but am pretty sure you will be all right with a 2012 model. If you post the engine number we can confirm. Other than the flat tappet issue I would suggest doing a good visual check and evaluate that with the mileage of the bike. The Norge is a great tourer with good levels of comfort. I’m sure you’ll be happy. Cheers Phil
Apologies for the short reply, was doing taxi duties.
Have a look on griso ghetto Web site which has a lot of information on this subject.
My 2011 sport needed doing, which isn’t too far from 2012.
If you can get the rocker cover removed you can see (or ask for proof of conversion)
There are some pictures on griso ghetto of the 2 types.
