What did you do with your Guzzi today ? 2018 .......

Went to the North West 200 today. Great weather ,great racing but only saw one other guzzi. A green and yellow California.

Went to the Rugby Bike Fest today on the Cali. Nice ride out, the sun was shining and quite a few Guzzi’s to be seen for a change.

Grand day with the Staffies at a pub based classic car and bike show in Great Haywood near Stafford.
A very respectable turnout of bikes and people.
Plenty of tea, chat, bike watching and money raised for very worthy causes.
Here’s to many more

Just got back to Bristol after a long weekend in Peterborough at the MCN
Show. A great event ,hot weather ,cold beer and a great crowd of people
Thanks to Laura ,Alan and all the other Fenland Branch members and their friends from the Triumph club for making it so enjoyable.
Cheers.

+1 for the Fenland Branch. Incredibly hard working and welcoming group.
Sadly I missed the show due to other commitments.
Have fun

I visited the show and stand on Saturday, very enjoyable and a good enthuisiastic but low key presence.
Well done all involved.
The fact that I lost my top box on the back was a minor inconvenience. I mean some of those tools go back to the '80’s and probobly needed replacing.

We fell off! lol. Nadgery little junction on a gravely single track road in the back of beyond. turned out very carefully due to the uneven surface and gravel but not enough revs to keep up right, Did get me foot down but our Cali had reached the point of no return, resulting a slow embarrassing topple onto the tarmac. Middle of bloody nowhere but of course there was a van load of spectators coming the other way. amazing how easily you can pick up a 600lb California when you’re feeling like a complete plonker. Fortunately no damage to the bike as the engine bars and my leg protected it, a good test of me new Draggin Kevlar jeans though . Next time were out that way we’ll make sure we’re on the Ural outfit, that would have done it sideways in a big cloud of dust, no problem lol.

Changed the oil and filter on the Le Mans, ready for my upcoming trip to the Pennine and then the Simmer Dim. Had to put a new battery on her the other day too. Kudos to Tayna batteries, got it to me quick and surprised to find it was ready filled with acid.

Nice little run out in the sun by way of a shakedown as I I don’t think I have ridden her this year. All well and nice to get that Le Mans feel, so different from the Norge.

Forgot to put the sump plug washer back on. It isn’t leaking at all, but got to decide whether to drain the fresh oil out again to put it back!?

If you’re quick there will only be a small pool.

Booked the Stelvio into Twiggers to have the cam followers sorted. Kerching! :unamused:

Well, I’ve got a cork off a wine bottle I just finished, so then it’s just a question of waiting till the wife is out so I can get myself a clean receptacle for the gushing oil!

Started stripping the Breva last night to investigate the transmission whine. Its amazing how much stuff you can get off a bike in an hour. Only one exhaust stud putting up a fight so far.

Or lay the bike on it’s side? You will need to drain the petrol out and may need some help to get it back up again!

Another thought…What temperature does oil freeze?

Measuring jug works best. And just slip it in the dish washer when you’ve finished with it. (The cucumber slicer gag comes to mind at this point).

Are you having a laugh?

That assumes I am dexterous enough to do this whilst only letting a pint out. I would feel safer with something bigger. Dishwasher idea is good though.

I am afraid I am much too innocent to know about the cucumber slicer gag (as in gag reflex?)

Took the Stelvio up to Twiggers for cam therapy, train home.

Spent a few hours replacing my exhaust header gaskets on the cali the left one was blowing badly, amazingly i didn’t break anything doing the job, happy day.

Took a late afternoon ride over to Idle Torque, a hipster biker clothing outfit near Lutterworth, and watched them fire up the Rolls Royce merlin engine, all 27 litres of it, it sure sounded good.

Broke the V11 pawl arm spring. Managed to limp it home and then removed it.
