Yeah - what’s going on with all the pointless spreading around our way this year? The Pearl has mostly dissolved away.
Changed the locks on my panniers so all 2 are the same.
Only had the new locks a years or so before getting round to it.
Not bad going really, let’s be honest. Just think how long it would have taken if you had not retired?
I’d’ve had to take a week off on my annual leave.
NTX750 exhaust fitted at second attempt!
Sometimes it’s the simple things that trip us up.
Hopefully it’ll be gas tight and ready to try out the new breather system soon.
Happy days
Steve
Collected the Nevada from the MOT station having dropped it off yesterday lunch time. Passed of course.
Was that a replacement exhaust Steve?
Not yet. The old one after some TLC on the centre section from Kate Wain.
Once the bike is running and happy I may invest in a new system from Roy at O&S.
Have fun
Steve
Fitted some heated grips to the T3 ready for the Clox, being Sods law that should warm the weather up a bit then
I spent most of today tidying the workshop, and fitting new LED striplights
amazing, sod all current consumption and much better light output with no worries about broken glass when I hit one
the Guzzi is still behind half a tonne of rubbish, so tomorrow I will get on with that
plus I need to get ym daughters car shifted so I can get access to the road
it was too cold to fiddle around with that today
I did the square root of FA , in just over a week we head to the Pyrenees from Scotland (on our BMW’s) and I’m wondering if the weather is going to lighten up a bit. This winter is going on too long!
Heading south sounds like just the ticket and…I’ve spent most of my life surviving on the ‘square root of FA’ - I love the analogy.
Roy Green from the Forest of Dean
Put the Optimate on the 850GT battery, as I’m feeling optimistic about getting out this weekend. Maybe even during the week, if I get chance to put some air in the tyres one evening.
Thats cos yer retarded…oops…I meant retired !
Theres a strong possibility we shall be goin to work on ours…tho we will have to go to our meet at the Broughton in the van cos too much stuff to carry…
Work n bak in the dry and the sunshine…me on me lemon…Guy on his 1000s…a pair of hooligans…
Checked me tappets on the Cali. Found one a bit loose, all sorted now.
Does anyone else use the ICEO method? I found it in Gambalunga years ago.
Remove the rocker covers and plugs and put the bike in top gear. Roll the bike forwards until an exhaust valve just starts to open. Without moving the bike, set the inlet tappet on the same side. Next roll the bike back till the inlet valve just starts to open. Now set the exhaust tappet for that same cylinder
Then repeat for the other side.
I tend to set them a bit loose, nearer to 0.3mm as they tend to be a bit tighter when you measure the clearance at TDC.
Quick run to Aberystwyth (20 miles away) to pick up the things I needed for the Clocks forward. Surprised to find I’d done 145Km by the time I got home.
Rode the Stelvio to London and had a nice long chat with Baldrick as he set the tappets. Now all I have to do is ride it around for 500 miles before taking it back for him to check them again to see if the cam followers are on the way out. Clocks and back would do it
Hi,
Hope it’s good news after the Clocks.
I fitted a new rev counter cable. My previous repair to the outer has let in the salt and water. Proceeded to burn my hand on the exhaust and melt the sleeve of my jacket on the exhaust pipe. Good fun.
Manchester Bike Show tomorrow
