Bugger!!!, just replaced both oil seals in the bell housing on my T3, cleaned clutch plates etc, pulled out the clutch release bearing unit only to find all the rollers were sitting in the cover , bloody things only done 8000 miles Dohh !, fortunately all rollers accounted for so its another call to gutsibits , hoping all goes well and i’m Guzzi mounted for the Scottish bash this Friday
Had a nice morning blast on Sunday to warm up the Stelvio’s oil for a change…which ended up taking an hour and I was accompanied by the missus on her Nevada. All good until the Stelvio tried to fall off the bike lift onto her that afternoon! She has a nasty hand injury but it could have been worse; the bike wasn’t scratched
Rode to Wiltshire last week, two up and fully laden, for 4 night stay at Center Parcs with the family. Rained all the way back. Off to darkest Basildon in the morning. I have now covered over 750 miles of the 500 miles Baldrick asked me to do on adjusted tappets to see if the cam needs doing, so it will be back to South London soon
Just picked up the bearings for the 950S. 9 bearings, 4 tapered (steering head and swinging arm) and 5 sealed roller (wheels and drive shaft) £60.00 + VAT the lot from Essex Bearings in Heybridge, Maldon.
The wheel bearings and drive shaft bearing I bought are all sealed type which are a little dearer than plain caged roller bearings that the original ones were. Sealed bearings as recommended in Guzziology
Chris, you really wouldn’t want to work here, I don’t, I hate the most of the morons that infest the place and the management who couldn’t run a bath , never mind a business, and not forgetting the crap wages. All the bearings are SKF so they should be ok. Staff discount is the only worthwhile perk that I’ve got.
You are right of course, my office is attached to my workshop and garage, so if I get inspiration at work I can just pop through and do a little Guzzi fettling. The joys of self employment
Half the insect population of Cambridgeshire seemed to be embedded on my helmet and visor when I got home this afternoon. The other half were stuck to the bike!
Getting to know my new Breva 750. Changed the rear diff’ oil, it was bright green! How long has that been in there.
Removed the small short screen as it makes so much wind noise, rather not have it at all.
Repaired the front right indicator connection as it decided when it wanted to flash, not me.
Best of all test rode the newly fitted Booster Plug, what a revelation.
