A nice morning run around Derbyshire then cake at Beeley. The traffic on the A6 was awful.
Rocky road with a glass of milk.
Lovely.

the OEM bars are apparently the easiest to fit, i can confirm they work, I’ve had 3 drops, one off road, one low speed carpark with pillion, and once on road on ice. brake pedal got bent, slight paint scratches on the right hand engine bar but no damage to engine
Three cheers for owner-maintained Guzzis! This concept has always been part of the Mandello factory’s philosophy – that’s why they made them so easy to work on!
Nice work but here’s a tip….if you use a side stand then always park your bike tilted towards the wall. That way when little scroats attempt to break the steering lock the handle bar up against the wall will disable leverage making it more problematic if you see what I mean. So they may just move on. Just a thought ![]()
Understand where you’re coming from but I have two constraints on parking that way.
A centrestand is the way forward if anyone has a spare one ![]()
On my V7 the steering lock can be applied with the steering in either position, I assumed this was a ‘Guzzi thing’ as all my previous Jap bikes would only lock with the bars turned to the left. Is this function not common among Guzzi’s.?
my v85 only locks with steering turned to the left
Took my granddaughter for her first ride on a motorcycle..
Only a short spin around the block but that’s it, she’s now a ’biker’.
Said she loved it as we chatted away on the intercom.
I’m actually doubting myself now, I know it won’t lock in the middle because I’ve watched the mechanism/pin pop in and out last week when I was squirting some lube in there…. and the stem doesnt have a hole for the pin to slot into in middle. but I don’t think I actually tried turning the bars the other way and then the key.
come to think of it I’ve never tried that ! Will try it tomorrow morning ![]()
My service due warning light has come on at 4400 miles (I believe it’s only due at 6200)
I think I’m capable of doing it myself over the winter just wondering if anybody has an answer to the (Is there a non dealer way of resetting the warning light ? , There seems to be an OBD reader solution for most cars nowadays !)
Just search for service light warning codes in the search icon and you shall be enlightened ![]()
Many Thanks
ODB reader and app wont reset the service light but it will reset fault codes.
i use an app called torque which is designed for cars but works to reset faults on bikes.
there is a Chinese tablet device posted in this forum that can reset the service light, cost about £400. alternatively make friends with nearest dealer who will do for free or a small charge (like 20 or 30 quid)
Cheers Sid ![]()
