Just having a ride along the east Yorkshire coast testing out the new number plate and plate holder. The old one snapped in half due to rust…
Such a fine day, glorious sunshine. Just as I’d imagine how Italy would be when out riding a Guzzi there.
Brilliant. I should imagine the foods better in Italy though
…and you would probably be on the other side of the road!
Notice my brake light was permanently on, on investigation it seems the front brake micro switch was the culprit, with the plastics case appearing to have suffered previous damage. Sadly it doesn’t want to go back together, anyone know if these are generic.? (2010 V7)
May pop my Vstrom one on until I source another, if it fits..
This looks similar
Thanks Don, have managed to source one locally.. from a scooter specialist .
Seems the switches are indeed pretty ubiquitous, they listed the part as suitable for certain Lambretta’s, fits my V7 perfectly, £7.
I don’t know how you folks find it in your area, but locally, a ‘Traditional’ motorcycle shop selling all sorts doesn’t really exist near me, so I’ve often used this scooter specialist, I find they’re very good for 6v stuff like my DT175 needs.
Also, spotted these ‘day-running’ style lights while in there, was talking to some of the MG club guys last Saturday about adding something similar to give more ‘visibility’ to myopic drivers.
These are metal and I reckon suit the look of the V7 better than the more popular lights seen on other ‘motorcycle’ parts suppliers websites.. may be good for other Guzzi’s too..
These are designed for the scooter boys, but I may well be investing, especially as they start at £12.99 each. (The blue ones actually come with four different lenses, yellow orange and clear too).

perfect replacements for my california indicators !
Tested my ‘new’ Denali Soundbomb horn.. in anger.!
A lovely lady looked at me, and decided to pull out all the same, a good blast soon stopped her in her tracks..
I can highly recommend those horns, it has such a big deep sound, by the look on her face she must have thought the Flying Scotsman was coming through
The only downside is that the original indicators can be seen from the side as well.
mine far from original already lol see my profile photo
Its a pity that so many stock horns offer a pathetic bleat. A decent blast of noise directed at the hazard is a great way of alerting them of your presence.
Unlike noisy pipes which point back wards and inform people of your having past them you can deploy your horn when required at the looming hazard.
I’ve finally got new tyres on the wheels, and hoping to get the wheels on this weekend!
I will then be able to move it around the garage, first time in over 20 years!
We infiltrated the Ducati Bristol “We Ride as One” annual ride out, this time to Bishop Cannings in Wiltshire. You can just see a splash of yellow Stelvio colour amongst the line of red!
Beautiful weather, great ride.
As I’d earned sufficient brownie points with SWMBLT via my work in the garden, I took advantage of the beautiful weather, and rode my 750T down to meet those fine people of the West Devon branch at the Avon Inn. We spent some time talking bikes and life in general, and enjoyed a lunch from the “Garden Menu”. It was good to meet them all, and I may even make a run or two out with them. A nice 130 mile round trip in lovely weather. Thanks all for the company!
Cheers, Bob.
Went for a blast to Southport via Lathom, Lancashire. I always have
a sit down on my favourite bench in the middle of lovely farmland. The bench was placed there by a loving son in memory of his dad,“Johners”. I find the spot very peaceful.
Fitted a USB plug on my Breva, ready for my upcoming tour
Fixed a very slight oil leak on the rocker cover only to find a very small crack in the cover next to one of the hex head screws, be careful when buying used off the internet!!
Going to get my original ones blasted and either powder coated or polished
That’s a shit if the seller knew !!!
