I thought I’d take the Le Mans out to Whiteways. I got about half a mile down the road and the clutch cable broke. I can feel a Gutsibits order coming on…
I had to get my passport to a courier to send it to the US embassy for a visa, their nearest office was in Chelmsford but it was not on the list that the embassy sent me, so I decided just before I got on the A12 to ride to Stratford where there was one on the list! Crazy ride mainly on duel carriageways and then through the Olympic Park.
The bike ran very well but the traffic was a pain, I am not the filtering tsar but needs must!
Rode the Le Mans to Cadwell Park to watch some classic bike racing at a BHRC meeting. Saw this Le Mans powered sidecar (not a MGCGB member). My Guzzi never missed a beat now it’s all sorted. The entry ticket was a surprise 65th birthday present from my lovely wife, which also included a day out on my own pass. Lol
Went for a ride over the Runcorn Bridge and soon linked up to the A49 past Oulton Park and onto the Wrexham road to the Horseshoe Pass Llangollen. Homebound journey via Ruthin and on to Queensferry towards Birkenhead whilst stopping for a pint of well deserved ale at the Tap, Eastham Ferry…a very popular round off to any bikers journey. Great weather so it was rammed with folk all enjoying their day.
It started well still got a slight oil leak.
So while pulled over just gently revving the engine to see if I could see it weeping.
Revs like mad backfires farts.
Looking on the other cylinder the intake rubber has come away from the throttle body .
So sat here letting it cool before I get it resolved.
Happy Sunday everyone
Met my son on his new Triumph 400 at Ripon, then a ride together through some beautiful Yorkshire dales villages to Hawes. Had a non-alcoholic pint while watching what seemed like hundreds of bikes passing through. Then went our separate ways, me home via Barnard Castle (of eyesight checking fame). 150 warm and sunny miles in total.
