Full service on the Norge this week. Also changed all the rear link bearings and painted the swing arm etc to tidy up. Fork legs also painted. When re assembling noticed the end can was cracked almost all the way round at the weld, changed to a Delkavich end can as it was the best way forward. Will paint the wheels at next tyre change.
For an older girl she is looking ok I think.

I went out for a short ride with my dad this morning. He was on his Ducati ST2 (80k miles and still reliable), I was on my V50ii. We got caught in a shower but still nice to ride. I was supposed to spend the afternoon recording bass tracks for my band but after getting it wrong one two many times, I got the V50 out again and went for another ride. The little Guzzi puts a huge grin on my mug. Its really fun to ride.

Went for a test ride with a new LH switchgear fitted on the LM2. Alot easier to use than the original, and the flash switch is at the rear. Bought as a brand new cheap pair off eBay. At least the flash actually operates the high beam. Only thing is there is not a lights on/off so lights are permanently on from the ‘on’ position of the ignition switch- the on/off switch is on the RH switch which I don’t intend to fit

removed the mistral booster plug today, so far the replacement engine mapping after a brief ride seems to feel roughly the same. slightly smoother, and noticeably less popping on deceleration.

Six weeks. Blimey, I ordered my Mandello from Jim Allan after a test ride of their demo straight out of the crate in November and didn’t get delivery until the following June… absolutely no indication of when I was going to get the bike either. Not Jim Allans fault I should add, just the way the factory operated.
Six weeks will flyby, enjoy when she arrives!

Im waiting on FedEx for delivery of a mountain bike. Delivery due last Wednesday. Not happy. Now would be the ideal time to break another collar bone as well, it could be healed in time for my new motorbike.

Sid was that the Upmap or ANOther?
the upmap device, which seems to have a few more functions than just the remap it turns out.
it also has live monitoring, a track logging/recording function, obd fault reader and possibly other functions I haven’t delved into.
I had to disconnect the MIA device because my phone was trying to connect to both devices at once and I didn’t want anything going wrong during the reflash. once I finished I just unplugged upmap and plugged MIA back in.
the upmap is intended that you can leave it plugged in all the time and use it for the extra dash on your phone screen but I won’t be doing that.
update now I’ve ridden over 150 miles with the remap - fuel economy is definitely worse, also although it will sit in 6th gear even a bit below 40mph, and still pull away, the fuel economy is terrible doing that, changing down to 4th improves the mpg immediately if doing 40ish. this is counterintuitive because it 6th it will be at 2500rpm and in 4th, 3000rpm, but fuel ecomony approx 20mpg better.
upper end is definitely smoother, unfortunately I still have the head wobble issue at speed present since head bearings got changed and also it’s quite windy today so I couldn’t find the limit of full throttle like I used to, but definitely pulls nicer at cough that speed you roll on when overtaking. still some popping on deceleration but much less than before. also when I started it up cold, the strong petrol smell wasn’t noticable as it was with booster plug.
however there are a few other factors involved, such as the wind I mentioned, and the fact I had to put E10 in it on way home. need a longer test in calm weather with E5 before I can compare properly.

I taxed mine today and did a 5 mile round trip to get petrol in readiness for the Scottish Rally in a few weeks time. £1.48 a litre was the cheapest
