What did you do with your Guzzi today ? .......

Today we are going to play on the A684 and other roads
Coz we are now up norf on hols, yay!

Saturday was the better day, with a full day of practice and racing, with the odd parade. Sunday morning only saw a couple of practice sessions, then it was not a lot happening, whilst the beeb filmed Bazza’s bike being ridden round the circuit, supposedly by Freddy Sheene, but actually Jim Muir (Vic Reeves), behind a very dark visor. I was kept entertained through all this by Martyn Ozbone, who did a bit of spannering for Bazza and works on film locations with the stars and the vehicles involved.
The only incident we had at my location was a biggy, with the bike breaking up and oil dumped everywhere. The petrol tank flew past me, but luckily didn’t explode!
I think the BBC 2 program is scheduled for the autumn.

My Convert is transferred to its new shed and is being fettled for some serious riding. The poor thing has been neglected for too long due to circumstances beyond my control and the paint that I put on the tank and mudguards has gone funny - sort of cracked but under the lacquer. Probably because I did it in the winter and temperature and humidity were all to cock. The tank is half stripped and the front mudguard too, ready to start again. I’m going to try a different paint scheme - hope it looks OK, or I’ll be doing it all again!

Ta fer that Rumbled…you marshals…stars…

Rode mine to work and lost me scrunchie…again…

Full replacement exhaust system arrived for the V7Sport this morning. This evening I’ve been in the fettling shed to do a fitting and it all lines up ok. The new silencers are a better shape than the old ones and have much neater welding although the little “shark gill” slots aren’t very open. I can live with that.

I have been arranging a multitude of insect life across the front of the bike. They like yellow too…

Ooh nasty...

I rode mine to work today

I should be heading for Assen today, but I’ve had to cancel

Got mine wet. Ruddy BBC weather were saying “No rain until 7” at 4:30 with it sheeting down outside the window. Now slightly damp.

Thats a pity Fig…
Today I have done nothing with me guzzis, Guy and me have however done 500 miles in the van fetching other peoples bikes…

The BBC weather app keeps saying it’s going to rain here in the Sarf East soon but as it gets nearer the time, it’s mysteriously postponed to the next day or the next.

I fitted an Airbus P clip onto my Le Mans to hold the gearbox breather pipe in place. WOOHOO!

Took the bike for the MOT today, was due on Monday but new rear tyre didn’t arrive till Tuesday after wrecking the old one last Thursday. Still all sorted now . NE Club run on Sunday, anyone meeting up for the run to Devils Bridge . Ian

We had a little trip out locally, me lad was racin…nipped and had a look on a Lemans and me old bevel…got rained upon, so we did !

Cleaned and polished Helen’s V11 Sport and hopefully fixed the minor gearbox leak.

Took a break from fixing a mates’ Yamaha and worked on my Guzzi instead.

I rode my T3 to a little classic bike rally near Skipton. There were several Guzzis there - a Nevada, a Brevia and a few others. My T3 attracted a lot of attention and I had several conversations with people that had owned one in the past, had one in bits or wanted one. It was a very well organised event with all the proceeds going to charity. I entered mine in the concours and came absolutely nowhere! I lusted after the Jota that was parked nearby: 70,000 miles but completely mint. It had cost the owner £2,000 many moons ago and was now worth £12,000 or so. A great investment. Perhaps not. He’d spent £10,000 on engine rebuilds and generally looking after it. Still want one though.

Quite funny that…I have a look at the Laverda forum occasiobally…if most of the posts are to be believed, big lavs never need rebuilds cos they never go wrong…oh no siree…
Mind you, they are tough engines…

Nice ride yesterday to Aldeburgh and fish and chips on the beach, then drenched on the way home!
