What did you do with your Guzzi today ? .......

Talk to Paul harris about 750 Breva’s.They sold one to a gent who did 100,000 miles on it in about 6 years commuting. All he did was get it serviced.Looked scruffy by the time he gave it back but still ok.Means I got at least 60,000 more to do before I think of restoring it.

I like the look of the 750 Breva, presumably the performance is more than adequate bearing in mind that not too many years ago a 750 was classed as a really big capacity?

Shows 105 mph on the clock, 90mph is the max I have seen on the satnav but that is with touring screen, 16 stone of me plus touring luggage.45mph short journeys60+ long journeys in UK. 70+ on the Continent.Comes into its own on twisties where it will leave anything but a superbly ridden lemon behind. It even makes me look good.

Had a run over to Bury St Edmunds this morning, so while I was over that way, I thought I’d call into Made in Italy. I managed to resist the urge to buy the MGS01 they have in stock at the mo. I am not a Ducati fan, but for those with deep pockets, they have some lovely singles and twins.

A beautiful morning for a ride, particularly once I was off the A14.

I’ve just swapped the silencer off my Stelvio for the old Quill end can I had fitted to my first Stelvio, a 2009 model. It sounds ok but there’s too much farting and spitting on the over run so I’ll be back out in the garage once it’s cooled down and put the original back on. I don’t remember it spitting back quite so much when it was fitted four years ago.

Er, well, actually it was me duke…but there were loads of guzzis at our away meet at the Anchor, High Offley…and guess what, Lucifer showed up ! (well Mr Satanfriendly actually)…and Tone too !
Val and me had a cracking ride home in the gloamin…that lass can’t alf ride a bike…

Took the Spada down to see my Mum in Farnborough. Motorway virtually all the way there and back. Spada did well cruising at 70 to 80 most of the way. Bit noisy down there today. 220 miles 4 gallons of petrol, 55 to the gallon ain’t bad.It had to rain for the last 10 miles home on the A roads

After riding Liverpool to Mkt Weighton to see my father, then took a longer than expected ride home via Higher Offley to the North Staff ride out meet. Really decent people and glad to have met all who attended. Never expected to go ‘off-roading’, but guess that’s Staff’s back roads for you.

Thanks to all I met.

Loaded up for trip to Trofeo Rosso last night and off to Portsmouth today.

Rolled the Sportie out into daylight and played with inj duration and spark advance for a steady idle.
Had lunch and watched the Open with a nagging question running around the remaining brain cell. V7 Stone or Sportie tomorrow for camping w/end at Achiltibuie?

What a cracking ride out Ian, certainly been through some nice scenery there!

Well, this afternoon i have put my bikes to bed for 3 weeks.Leave by car at 3am for a week at a gorgeous Gite on the outskirts of Villers Bocage in Normandy and the head to the South of France from there for a further fortnight. Hell on wheels but worth the effort.

Went for a spin to Aberystwyth and on to Brecon. Passed a “sport Guzzi” only clocked him in passing, had a black tank with a red strip on it. Hi if your on here.
I got stuck at Brecon with a dead battery. Time to fit a new one.

Rode the 3 miles to Oliver’s Mount to chuck straw bales round the circuit.

Flew back home just to have quality time with the Chen…

Went for a ride in the rain:

Link to picture of wet cafe!

The excuses were:

 1. Test the Triumph Bonneville screen I’ve bodged on.
 2. Test my new solo-seat/rack set up.
 3. Continue playing with waterproofs in the hope there is something out there that actually works in real weather (see TWB Arctic and TWG flasher mac )

The screen and rack works, the Olde-Style kit remains a compromise.

As for coffee on the go you just need the contents of this box

Box (see next picture in the album).

A good ride and the chap with the BSA was having fun too.
3. Continue playing with waterproofs in the hope there is something out there that actually works in real weather
Andy, go to your local bike shop and purchase a set of 2-piece waterproof overalls (2-piece cos they’re easier to get on and off). It doesn’t matter what brand, all that matters is that they’re made of plastic, of any sort. Put said waterproofs over your regular kit…If you’ve spent more than £30 you’ve been ripped off.You are now waterproof.

rode it, got both of us quite wet, came home and ordered it a new clutch cable as i noticed the one fitted has started to fray

Rode mine in the sunshine again. Lovely.
