Got the easy bit done today,
Looking good, Phil.
Quality garage time today. I’ll need to give all the tools a good clean and tidy up this weekend! Wifey’s Breva almost sorted…

Nothing for the next 4 to 6 weeks as I have damaged the Tendons in my Right Index finger and it’s now in a splint. I’d only cleaned it yesterday ready for the Super Sausage tomorrow. Bugger!
Ah…throttle hand…

I took the battery out, Tony said it was at 75 percent when he serviced it
called in to my favourite batteyr place ( been there since 1945)
40 quid for a decent yuasa
result
its sitting on the optimate charging up nicely
Changed the rocker cover gasket during the week so popped up to the Super Sausage for Guzzis day, checked before I came home and no oil on the ground. Came home the scenic route about 70 miles and the oil leak is back.
So either I didn’t do the rocker over job properly or the leak is somewhere else probably the oil pressure sensor.
But it was good to see a good range of Guzzis and only two other Norges whilst I was there.
Took me VMCC pals on a 50 mile bimble round the Shropshire lanes…including a ford that was deeper than it looked…
And Front Brake in my case, might have managed on a Linked Brake model.
Took the lil’Breva to the Sundowners rally in Datchworth, won yet another trophy for it.
I’ve now got matching hip flasks.
Upset 4 German car drivers on the way down by obeying the highway code and a Renault on the way back for stopping at a red light.
Good weekend.
For those who remember him Pete Gower is still around but takes hints a bit easier now.
I never got round to asking whether he had paid.
Re the above I also was part of the winning team in the '70’s pop trivia quiz by dint of sitting at a table with 2 new found friends when Alison distributed the quiz.
They formed a team and automatically included myself.
Out of 60 questions I answered 1 and got it wrong. The other 2 got 35 right which was good enough.
Prize was Port, Stilton and crackers so I now have a large piece of stilton in my fridge.
Ordered a new garage/workshop for the Breva 1100 today and…enough space to make my bike dream of a second Guzzi all the more closer. Decided it just has to be a metallic green V11
Took Lefty the Lodola shopping in Hanley today…it really is like riding a pushbike without having to pedal…
Went with many staffs members to the bike nite organised by gawsworth jesters, good turnout with plenty of Interesting bikes .lots of old friends means I spent lots of time reminiscing about times past.

Grand night.
I was impressed with the range of bikes on show and the laid back atmosphere.
Band not bad and the burgers got rave reviews.
Nice to see the 6-8 Guzzis mingling in the crowd of bikes.
Signs are that they’ll do it again next year.

Took a ride to St Buyan vintage rally, nr Land’s End. A few bikes on show including a very tatty, hand painted black V50II. Spoke to the owner who bought it for £100 a few years ago and has just ridden it since. Took the scenic route back along the north coast road from St Just to St Ives then home. Lovely twisty roads, blue sea, wonderful views. Back home for beer and peanuts, not a bad day!

Great weekend at the Mallory Bike Bonanza,
Quieter than previous years and very quiet compared to its predecessor event The Festival of 1000 Bikes.
Having said that it was a great weekend with a great range of bikes and riders. Much busier today than Saturday.
Guzzi Club marquee was, as ever, the busiest spot and drew lots of compliments for the warm welcome and free refreshments.
Home to address a grinding and binding on the back wheel of the Mongrel which led to me nipping over to Mallory in the LandRover.
Hats off to Alan and Elaine Richards for organising the event, the volunteers who made the stand work and, of course, to the riders that took their bikes out on track.
Have fun
Steve
Did a breakfast run to the Yonderman cafe on the 623 nr Tideswell, really good cafe lots of local content in the menu , well priced and the place is really clean (not always the case in the uk), recommended I’ll be going back for seconds. Only downside is derbyshires crowded weekend roads.
John
A few more from Mallory…
