More pictures here,

Well just tried to fit me nice new Quill to the 1200, didn’t work out and am depressed now.

He new silencer looks lovely in brushed titanium, and it’s probably half the weight of the standard one I took off. Only problem is that the connecting pipe flange won’t go over the end of the exhaust pipe, the Id is too small. In fact as supplied it’s more or less size and size with the exhaust pipe. I will have to ring Mr Blomley tomorrow. The connecting pipe seems the right length and shape, but there is no way it will go on. Hoping he has just sent me the wrong one.

Tried to take the cali out on sunday to find the smell of petrol had got excessive, I’d looked previously for the cause on sunday I found it under the front of the tank where the fuel returns to the tank , a gusher of a leak, the rubber on the hose has failed completely , time to spend some more money.

Club night at The Blue Bell…a very good turnout…a few new faces which is great…

A few of the 12-15 bikes that turned up. Grand night sitting out and chewing the fat.

Replaced the failed rear wheel bearings on the Mongrel earlier this week. Cheap and easy job ((£25 and 1.5 hours including a bit of cleaning up).
Felt wrong to neglect the front end so did that this morning (1 hour and a bit less money).

Looking at the state of the bearings I took out this morning I’m thinking of making this a service item.

Off for a post rush hour test/celebration ride later.

Have fun
Steve

After I found out that it was only the Top Joint of my injured finger that needed to be immobilised and not the whole finger I asked the ever helpful Grant at Epping Shoe Repairs, to modify one of my old gloves so that I could get on it over the splint and it was ready this morning. This enabled me to enjoy the afternoon of my 70th birthday zipping round the local lanes reaping the benefits of recently fitted New Hagon Shocks and fresh oil in the forks. Super Happy Bunny!

nice one, glad you had such a great day

Resultski!

Great news! And Happy Birthday.
Love the idea of modified gloves. Maybe it should be a tech tip for members in the future
All the best
Steve

Still sitting in the garage

Yes, but what is the bike doing?

if you apologise nicely she might let you back in the house?

Took mine down to Old Warden to watch the Edwardian flying display.
Unfortunately it was too windy for the really old planes to fly, but still a grand day out.
I thoroughly recommend a visit to the Shuttleworth collection. It’s a fabulous place. Loads to see even if it’s not a flying day.

Went away to Builth Wells for a weekend ride-out with LASER bike club . Saturday, 172 miles then a great evening in the bar after a good meal.
This meant a bit of a slow start Sunday morning. Then 75mile around some great Welsh roads before turning East and heading home. Total of over 400 miles covered in glorious weather over the weekend.

Yesterday I got back from the Pilgrims Rally at 12:00.
At about 13:30 Tony Botto phoned up and said he would be over in an hour to deal with my Security bolt.
He turned up, got his 'lecky drill and sockets designed to remove security bolts out.
1 minutes work, 20 minutes chatting and £40.00 later he was off.
Bargain. It just shows what having the proper tools does, but begs the question, why fit the stupid security bolts? Because thieves will have these tools whereas I don’t.

And in those 21 minutes Pakistan lost 3 wickets making the subsequent England victory inevitable.
